There is something to be said for the simple joy of being out on the water, whether its lakes, rivers or the ocean. There is the pleasure of going places not easily reached.
There are many different ways to travel across water, and yet one of the simplest and easiest, would have to be the humble kayak. And what better way than with an inflatable kayak.
Inflatable kayaks have many advantages over traditional kayaks. The three main advantages of inflatable kayaks over the traditional hard-shelled kayak are:

Best One Person Inflatable Kayak |

While there are many inflatable kayaks available on the market, some are better than others. Here are our picks for the best inflatable two person, and inflatable one person, kayaks available.
When it comes to value for money you really cannot beat the Intex Explorer K2 Kayak. At a pinch over ten feet long this kayak has been designed to carry two people; and has a maximum carrying weight of four hundred pounds.
Its width of three feet helps to provide it with stability, which is important to consider when carrying two people.
Intex is a group of international companies, specializing in inflatable and water items, such as airbeds, pools and spas. With a proud history going back more than forty years, it is no surprise that the Intex Explorer K2 Kayak should easily be our choice for the best inflatable two-person kayak.
The Intex Explorer K2 Kayak has been designed to be comfortable for everyone. This is achieved using an adjustable, inflatable seat that comes complete with backrest. It comes with a removable skeg (underneath fin) providing stability for deeper waters, while easily removable when in shallower waters.
We especially like the fact that the Intex Explorer K2 Kayak comes in a bright yellow color, aiding its visibility, in the unlikely event of an emergency. It been designed for small bodies of water, such as lakes and mild rivers.
In our opinion, the Intex Explorer K2 Kayak is priced ridiculously low, making it remarkable value for the money, and no doubt explaining why this kayak wins the Amazon’s Choice in the kayak section.
When it comes to inflatable two-person kayaks, the Intex Explorer K2 Kayak is one of the best buys a person could make; it is obvious why this kayak is so popular amongst online shoppers.
The Intex Explorer K2 Kayak comes with two sturdy aluminum paddles. Being constructed from heavy duty vinyl, that is puncture resistant and having two separate air chambers, it is obvious that the designers have put care and thought into making this kayak safe.
The Intex Explorer K2 Kayak comes with a high-output air pump, and uses Boston valves, allowing it to be quickly inflated when required and just as easily deflated afterwards. When it comes to inflatable kayaks, speed of inflation and deflation are important. The designers of the Intex Explorer K2 Kayak have taken this into consideration and designed it accordingly.
Amongst other design features that we like about the Intex Explorer K2 Kayak is that the floor has be made with inflatable I-beams. These help to provide rigidity and support that may not be found in other inflatable kayaks.
Given that the Intex Explorer K2 Kayak has many positive features going for it; given that it is remarkably good value for money; and given that it has been certified compliant by the National Marine Manufacturers Association; it is easy to see why this kayak was our easy winner.
This kayak comes with two paddles, two deluxe inflatable seats, a foot pump, a carry bag and a repair kit.
While this inflatable kayak is more expensive than our winner, the Sea Eagle SE370K_P Inflatable Kayak does come with more features and benefits to go with the increase in price tag.
Sea Eagle Boats Inc was started back in 1968, as a family owned business and has its offices located on Long Island, New York. Celebrating their fiftieth year this year and specializing in inflatable boats, it is easy to understand why the Sea Eagle SE370K_P Inflatable Kayak was our easy choice as runner-up in the best inflatable two-person kayak category.
The Sea Eagle SE370K_P Inflatable Kayak comes with two 7’10” paddles, two inflatable deluxe seats, a foot pump, a carry bag and a repair kit. The kayak has the ability to carry up to 650 pounds of weight. This allows up to three people to be carried, or alternatively two people with a decent amount of gear.
The Sea Eagle SE370K_P Inflatable Kayak has been certified compliant by the National Marine Manufacturers Association.
It has decent length at 12’6”, yet is still able to be inflated in eight minutes, with the aid of the provided foot pump. There is definitely convenience in using a foot pump, rather than a hand pump.
We are particularly impressed with the pressure scale gradations on the side of each section to help with ensuring that the kayak is pumped to the correct pressure (rather than under or over inflated). Having this useful, easy to use guide definitely will make it easy to inflate it correctly.
The Sea Eagle SE370K_P Inflatable Kayak comes with lashed down inflatable spray skirts to reduce water getting into the inside of the kayak. There is also a self-bailing drain valve should water splash on board and you need to easily remove it.
The package has very detailed instructions available online for help with inflating and using it. The kayak has two skegs on the bottom of the kayak to help with stability, tracking and speed.
We are particularly impressed with the addition of a puncture repair kit. While a puncture is unlikely, having a repair kit is definitely a case of better safe than sorry.
It comes with two carry handles allowing for it to be easily carried. The hull is made from saltwater and sun resistant polykrylar, helping to ensure the longevity of this kayak.
When it comes to a complete package that is easy to use and good value for the money, the Sea Eagle SE370K_P Inflatable Kayak is was an obvious choice for our runner-up.
When it comes to alternatives to our two previously mentioned kayaks, the Intex Challenger K2 Kayak is well worth considering.
It will be no surprise that our alternative should be by the same manufacturer as our winner. The Intex Challenger K2 Kayak is 11’6” long and is made from strong vinyl for puncture and UV damage resistance.
The Intex Challenger K2 Kayak is capable of carrying 400 pounds of weight, which will be adequate for most people. It comes with two 86-inch aluminum paddles, allowing two people to easily use this kayak.
The kayak comes with a high capacity pump and a patch repair kit, which would prove useful in the unlikely event of a puncture. The high capacity pump allows the kayak to be quickly inflated and deflated.
The Intex Challenger K2 Kayak comes in a bright green color with sporty graphics to help make the kayak more visible. It has the inflatable I-Beam floor to provide additional rigidity to the base of the kayak.
The use of Boston valves, like with our winning kayak, ensures that the Intex Challenger K2 Kayak can be quickly and easily inflated and also deflated afterwards. It comes with a removable skeg to provide additional stability and tracking when being used.
Overall while the Intex Challenger K2 Kayak does not quite match up to our winner or runner-up, it is still a worthy contender and well worth considering.
When it comes to inflatable kayaks suited for one person, the Sevylor Quikpak K1 Kayak was our easy choice as a winner.
Sevylor was founded in 1948, specializing in water sport inflatables from the early days, when they discovered a process that allowed them to manufacture PVC goods, including the invention of the inflatable bathtub.
With their seventieth birthday this year, it is no wonder that our pick for the best one-person inflatable kayak, should be from this well established and reputable company.
The Sevylor Quikpak K1 Kayak can be quickly and easily setup in about five minutes, meaning that you will spend time on the water rather than getting ready. It is made from 21-gauge PVC, that leads to a strong durable kayak, that is well suited to use on lakes.
The use of a tarpaulin bottom helps to protect the kayak from possible punctures.
Like all good inflatable kayaks, the Sevylor Quikpak K1 Kayak uses multiple chambers to allow each section to be quickly and easily filled. This has the added benefit of providing additional safety in the unlikely event of a puncture. It also uses the Airtight® system which is guaranteed not to leak.
The use of Double Lock™ valves, helps to ensure that the kayak will be easy to inflate and deflate after use.
We are impressed with the easy-to-carry backpack that the Sevylor Quikpak K1 Kayak comes in, especially as it is converts into the seat. Talk about clever use of space and materials.
The seating comes with a backrest for comfort, as well as different foot rest positions to ensure that you have a comfortable time on the water.
The Sevylor Quikpak K1 Kayak comes with secure storage space, allowing you to easily store your essential items safely. There is even a cup holder, so that you can keep your drink conveniently close.
It comes with carry handles to ensure that you can easily get it into and out of water.
As it is always preferable, the Sevylor Quikpak K1 Kayak has been certified compliant by the National Marine Manufacturers Association, allowing it to hold up to 400 pounds of weight. For a single person inflatable kayak, that is a lot of carrying capacity.
The Sevylor Quikpak K1 Kayak is a touch over eight and a half feet in length and has a hand pump and paddle included as part of the package.
When it comes to buying a one-person inflatable kayak, it will be obvious to many, why the Sevylor Quikpak K1 Kayak is great value for the money from a company that can trace its history back seventy years.
The Sea Eagle SE330 Inflatable Kayak is an obvious choice for our runner-up in the inflatable kayak category.
With an exterior length of 11’2” the Sea Eagle SE330 Inflatable Kayak is capable of carrying up to 500 pounds of weight. In theory it could hold two adults, however there is really only the seating and space for one adult.
The Sea Eagle SE330 Inflatable Kayak is made from 33 mil Polykrylar, ensuring that it is durable and hardy. The floor of the kayak uses I-Beam construction to help provide rigidity and stability.
The kayak is able to be inflated in up to six minutes, allowing for quick and efficient inflating, so that you are spending more time on the water.
The package comes with the inflatable kayak, as well as a four-part paddle, one deluxe seat and a carry bag. There is also a foot pump included to ensure a quick and energy efficient inflation of the kayak.
A repair kit is also included in the unlikely event that a puncture occurred.
We are impressed by the fact that Sea Eagle provides their standard three-year manufacturer’s warranty. It is always reassuring to know that a manufacturer is willing to stand behind their product.
When it comes to a runner-up the Sea Eagle SE330 Inflatable Kayak was an obvious choice.
The material that an inflatable kayak is made from is especially important. Ideally when choosing an inflatable kayak, you will want to know that it is made from a durable, hardwearing material.
The construction material should be sun, salt and UV resistant. While there are many possible options for construction material, you will want a common material that is known for its toughness. If plan on kayaking with your dog, make sure you research the material a lot and also travel with duct tape!
While some new polymers may sound impressive, less experience by manufacturers means that its long-term properties will be less well known.
Not only should the construction material be durable but it should also be lightweight and able to easily form leakproof seals.
A good inflatable kayak will be able to be carried to its location with a backpack carrier, hence the importance of a lightweight construction material. Just because a material is lightweight, does not mean that it must also be weak.
Clearly a material capable of forming good airtight seals is also important.
While the choice of construction material will have a significant impact upon the weight of the kayak, so too will factors such as design. Ultimately, the weight of the kayak will determine how easy it is to carry the kayak to its intended location and will have an impact on your level of use and enjoyment.
Ideally you will want a lightweight but strong inflatable kayak.
While different kayaks are capable of supporting differing numbers of people, that does not mean that it will necessarily be suited to do so.
Some kayaks will easily support the weight of two people however they will lack the size and space to comfortably seat two people.
When considering an inflatable kayak, remember to consider the number of people that will be using it at any one time.
Also, while it might be tempting to say that bigger is better; don’t forget that bigger also means heavier.
Make sure to choose a size that is appropriate to your needs.
As you will already be aware there is a choice between one or two-person kayaks.
While some one-person kayaks are capable of carrying two people, it is far better to choose one that has been designed specifically for that purpose.
When choosing a kayak, make sure that you have given careful consideration to the number of people that will be using it.
With the additional size required for two people, comes extra weight, however that may be ideal for a tall person looking for a single person kayak.
As always consider what you will be using the kayak for and whether it needs to be for one or two people.
The time it takes to inflate a kayak is important. Some poor-quality inflatable kayaks can leave you with the impression that they have taken an eternity to inflate. The main disadvantage of taking time to inflate, is that you will spend less time on the water and are also less likely to use the kayak at appropriate times.
When you have finished with the kayak at the end of the day, the last thing you want to do is to spend excessive time, slowly deflating the kayak, as you are getting more and more tired.
For the sake of your energy and sanity, you will want to get a kayak that is easy to deflate, so that you can quickly and easily pack up at the end of the day.
When the kayak is not being used, you would typically have it deflated and packed away in its carry bag (if it has one). One of the advantages of the inflatable kayak is its ability to be deflated and stored easily. There are however other accessories that may be included with your inflatable kayak.
An inflatable kayak will usually have paddles and a pump provided by the manufacturer. Removable seating can also often be included. While the kayak will readily deflate it is important to consider the amount of space that will also be taken up by the additional necessary accessories.
Many inflatable kayaks will have inflatable seats. In some cases, the paddles will also be capable of collapsing down into multiple parts. All of these features will work together to determine how much storage space will be required.
The obvious advantage of inflatable kayaks over hard-shelled kayaks is their ability to be easily stored, however you may also need to consider how easily the accessories can be stored and transported.
When it comes to kayaks there are many advantages to be had using an inflatable kayak over a hard-shelled kayak.
If you are considering investing in an inflatable kayak, you won’t get better value for money than those mentioned here. Why not get one today and see what we mean?
When it comes to fishing, there is something to be said about the simple relaxation of enjoying the great outdoors; a chance to take part in a primal activity that has been going on for thousands of years.
What better way to enjoy the glory of nature, and the thrill of the unknown, than by taking yourself fishing; and what better way to access those fish than by using a fishing kayak, in order to access places that might not be so easy to reach otherwise.
We all know the thrill of fishing. That sense of the unknown. That ability to be outside, not knowing what could happen next. The problem is that not all fish will conveniently be found close to the shore, at easily accessible places.
This is where a fishing kayak can prove to be a low-cost investment, that will make the fishing experience much better. Suddenly, you will find yourself getting to the places where others cannot easily get to.
Basically, your best chance for an incredible time fishing, is if you can reach the places that are not overfished; whether that is difficult to reach shores, or parts of the sea that others will not easily get to.

When it comes to finding a fishing kayak there are several options available, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. We have looked at the different fishing kayaks available, to find the ones that we think are the best, so that you do not need to. Here are the best fishing kayaks that we found.
The Sun Dolphin Journey Fishing Kayak was our easy winner in the Best Fishing Kayak category.
Sun Dolphin would have to be one of North America’s leading manufacturers in the kayak and recreational outdoor equipment market. Having been founded in 1982, in Muskegon, Michigan, this family owned business is still located in the same lakeside town today.
When it comes to purchasing outdoor equipment, there is something reassuring about knowing that Sun Dolphin has been around for many years and will continue to be around for many more.
The Sun Dolphin Journey Fishing Kayak is a lightweight kayak that is easy to carry about. Given that not all fishing locations are conveniently located, being lightweight is important.
One of the things that really attracted us to the Sun Dolphin Journey Fishing Kayak was that we would consider it to be the best fishing kayak for the money. Frankly, the Sun Dolphin Journey Fishing Kayak is remarkable value for money.
When it comes to fishing kayaks, you could easily spend thousands of dollars, but if your budget doesn’t reach that far, or if you haven’t used a fishing kayak before but want to try one out, then the Sun Dolphin Journey Fishing Kayak is definitely the best value for the money.
The Sun Dolphin Journey Fishing Kayak is great for lakes, rivers and difficult to reach places.
It is worth noting that the hull of the Sun Dolphin Journey Fishing Kayak has been designed for the stability and performance that is required from a fishing kayak.
Some of the design features that are worth noting are the inclusion of the following items:
With all of these great features, and at such a remarkable price, it is easy to see why the Sun Dolphin Journey Fishing Kayak from one of the United States, well established outdoor companies, was our easy winner.
Our runner up is the Sea Ghost Fishing Kayak from Vibe Kayaks.
While Vibe may be a new comer to the outdoor market; this United States company from Kennesaw, Georgia, has managed to make a niche for itself in the kayak fishing arena. Understandable when you consider that the company was founded by a kayak fisherman addict, and a saltwater junkie.
The Vibe Kayaks Sea Ghost Fishing Kayak has been designed for speed and stability, allowing it to be used on flat water and rivers easily. With a length of 11 feet and weighing in at 62 pounds, this is a good lightweight kayak for the keen fisherman.
Amongst the design features that are worth noting are the following:
The Vibe Kayaks Sea Ghost Fishing Kayak has many great features that make it our easy choice for runner-up.
The Lifetime 10 Foot Tandem Fishing Kayak is one alternative to consider when looking for a fishing kayak.
Olive green in color the Lifetime 10 Foot Tandem Fishing Kayak, is able to carry two people and is backed by a five-year limited manufacturer warranty.
While in theory it could seat up to three people (maximum weight 500 pounds), realistically you would not easily fit more than two adults on it.
The Lifetime 10 Foot Tandem Fishing Kayak is made from high density blow molded polyethylene for strength and durability.
The hull has been specifically designed for extra stability, which is important while fishing.
The Lifetime 10 Foot Tandem Fishing Kayak has multiple foot rests for different sized riders. Unfortunately, these are not adjustable but there is certainly variety in sizes.
The Lifetime 10 Foot Tandem Fishing Kayak is ten feet long and weighs sixty pounds.
Other features of the Lifetime 10 Foot Tandem Fishing Kayak include the following:
Overall this is a good fishing kayak, capable of carrying two people.
Another alternative fishing kayak from our winner and its runner-up is the Vibe Kayaks Shipjack 90 Fishing Kayak.
The Vibe Kayaks Shipjack 90 Fishing Kayak is a one-person fishing kayak that is nine-foot-long and weighs in at a lightweight forty-six pounds. It comes with a deluxe kayak seat that provides for comfort when being used.
The design of the Vibe Kayaks Shipjack 90 Fishing Kayak means that it has great stability, making it ideal as a fishing kayak. There are paddle holders/parks on either side of the kayak, allowing for the storage of the paddle when not being used.
The Vibe Kayaks Shipjack 90 Fishing Kayak comes with four capped, flush mounted, rod holders as well as a mounting point for suitable accessories. With four rod holders, this has clearly been designed with the keen fisherman in mind.
Other features of the Vibe Kayaks Shipjack 90 Fishing Kayak include the following:
The Vibe Kayaks Shipjack 90 Fishing Kayak truly is a good little fishing kayak, designed for those looking for a dedicated fishing kayak.
A third alternative to our winner and runner-up that you may want to consider is the Lifetime Tamarack Angler 100 Fishing Kayak.
Lifetime makes a variety of outdoors equipment, including the Lifetime Tamarack Angler 100 Fishing Kayak. Lifetime was started in 1986, in Riverdale, Utah and has been growing since then. Their commitment is to manufacture “durable, lasting products for consumers and their families”.
The Lifetime Tamarack Angler 100 Fishing Kayak is no exception. It is made from high density polyethylene and has flat bottom for the stability required from a fishing kayak.
There are multiple foot rest positions for comfort, providing suitability for different sized people.
Amongst the design features that are worth noting are the following:
This kayak is lightweight at less than fifty-seven pounds, and though basic in nature, it is good value for money.
When it comes to choosing a kayak, there are a variety of different materials available that a kayak may be made from. There are four key qualities that you will want from the construction material.
Firstly, the construction material should be lightweight. When you are going to need to move your kayak into and out of water at different locations, you are going to appreciate every pound of weight saved.
Secondly, the material should be durable. The last thing you want is to scrape a hole in the bottom of the kayak, when travelling in shallow waters, or dragging it onto shore.
Thirdly, ideally the construction material should be UV resistant. UV radiation is part of sunlight, and unfortunately, can also make some construction materials go brittle and fragile over time. Unless you are planning on never taking your kayak out in sunlight, you will want to have a UV resistant construction material.
Fourthly, different construction materials have different costs. We would recommend a common construction material, as common materials are generally cheaper than highly specialized ones.
When it comes to choosing a construction material for a fishing kayak, we would recommend a high-density polyethylene.
The weight of the kayak is important. Once the kayak is in the water, the weight may not be as important, however when it comes to easily getting the kayak into and out of the water, you will want a solid but lightweight kayak.
Some kayaks have removable items on them, such as the seating. If items are easily removed, this can help to lighten the kayak, making it easier to carry when being moved into or out of the water.
At the end of a long days fishing, when you have the satisfactory tiredness from a good day on the water, the last thing you need to be doing is struggling to get the kayak out of the water and stowed away.
While length is important for speed, that is not generally something that is as important for a fishing kayak. Extra length really just means extra, unnecessary weight.
The important feature regarding the size of the kayak, is to have a good width. This slows the kayak down more than for a narrower kayak, however, width also means greater stability.
When you are in the middle of reeling your catch in, you are going to appreciate that extra stability.
Different kayaks come with different seating options. Some are more comfortable than others. When it comes to choosing a kayak, it is important to remember that you could be seated in it for several hours.
For this reason, you may want to consider some of the following. Is the seat fixed, adjustable or removable? How much padding is provided? How much back support does the seat have? Is the seating suitable for your size and build?
While you have probably heard the saying – “no pain, no gain”, when it comes to enjoying your time fishing, avoidable back pain is not going to add to the experience.
Some kayaks are sold with paddle/s provided. Ultimately, you are going to need a paddle, so make sure to check if one is provided, especially if you do not already have a paddle.
There is also a range of different length and styles of paddles available. If you are going to choose a kayak with a paddle provided you may want to be sure that it will be suitable for your build and body size.
A rudder system has the benefit of providing extra stability, easier control and reduced energy needs when used. Understandably, though a rudder system adds cost to a kayak. When considering a kayak, check to see if a rudder system is provided.
If one is not then you will want to consider whether a rudder system is important to you and how much it would cost to add one. Many kayaks are capable of having rudder systems added to them post-production but you should check beforehand if you are going to want to add one.
Most good fishing kayaks come with storage space for your various pieces of equipment. Some will come with storage space for a crate, while others may have more elaborate waterproof storage compartments.
Some storage containers may even be removable. You will want to store some gear on your kayak, even if it is just some food, drink, bait and the normal bits and bobs.
Consider what your storage needs are and then consider which kayaks will meet those needs. If in doubt, choose a kayak with several different storage options. After all, it is better to be safe than sorry, as the old cliché goes.
A fishing kayak allows you to access places others cannot. When you can get to the places that others cannot, you will have a better fishing experience as a result.
There are several things that you should consider when investing in a fishing kayak. You will need to consider the following.
A fishing kayak can enhance a days fishing in ways that are difficult to imagine, if you have never used one before. You will be delighted with the difference it makes to a day’s fishing.
If you are looking to invest in a fishing kayak, then we would recommend one of the kayaks above. When you choose one, you will understand why they are so popular for fishing.
Kayaking is a delightful way to get some exercise while enjoying the beauty of nature. Recreational kayaking is a relaxed way to have a water adventure and the Intex Explorer K2 Kayak is perfectly suitable for that.
The Intex Explorer K2 Kayak is an inflatable recreational kayak which can seat two adults. It is part of Intex’s Sport series and is perfect for kayaking on lakes or easy rivers.
The kayak is lightweight and can be easily be transported to go and explore the waters. It is perfect for both beginners starting out and for intermediate kayakers.
The Intex Explorer K2 is a sturdy, inflatable kayak which is designed to be steered easily. It is lightweight and quick to assemble. The kayak has a cockpit design and a low profile, making it perfect for recreational kayaking.
It is made from heavy duty, puncture resistant vinyl and features two separate air chambers. It can easily be inflated or deflated with the included Intex high-output pump and has a Boston valve on either side.
Because of the two separate air chambers the kayak will remain floating in the event of a puncture. The chambers are situated in the main hull and the floor of the kayak.
The inflatable I-beam floor provides comfort and added rigidity.
The Intex Explorer K2 is very visible with its bright yellow color and this is an added safety benefit since you can easily be seen.
It features a removable skeg which provides directional stability. The two inflatable seats include backrests and they are adjustable and comfortable. There is a grab line and grab handle at both the rear and the front of the boat.
Included in the box is a carry bag, two 86” aluminum paddles, with the Intex high output manual pump and a repair kit.
There are so many positive things to say about the Intex Explorer K2. Firstly, it’s a great kayak for beginners since it is easy to assemble with everything you need included.
Another advantage, especially for beginners, is that the kayak is difficult to be capsized without intent. If it does overturn, its light weight allows you to easily put it back in the upright position.
Users have reported that re-entering the kayak is easy and that it doesn’t flip easily while doing it. This is good to know when you are in the middle of the lake and need to get back in after a swim.
A great safety benefit is the bright yellow color, since kayakers can easily be missed on the waters because of their low profile in the water.
The luminous yellow contrast of the kayak against the water helps you to be more visible to those on land which could help a lot if you run into trouble. It is US Coast guard approved, which offers added peace of mind.
The Intex Explorer K2 is quite spacious for an inflatable kayak and has enough space for both adults to sit comfortably. At the rear is extra cargo space for food, water, equipment etc. which also makes it suitable for fishing.
Weight wise the Explorer K2 is very light for an inflatable kayak, weighing only 30 lbs.
Something kayakers have mentioned is that the removable seats make it possible for the paddlers to sit on the inflated floor facing each other in the event that you want to stop and drift on a summer’s day.
Affordability is the Intex Explorer’s huge positive, and you would struggle to find a better value for money kayak on the market in this price class.
While most users are satisfied with this kayak some have reported minor issues.
The paddles seem to be one of the biggest complaints. They are apparently not very sturdy and also not adjustable. The plastic connectors on the paddles also doesn’t seem that durable.
Some are critical about the black cockpit and bottom of the boat, since black absorbs more heat, which means the air in the kayak could expand. This might cause the kayak to be predisposed to over inflation which can cause tears or slow punctures. It might have been better to keep the yellow exterior color on the inside as well.
Kayakers have reported that although the skeg is removable it is not advisable to take it off since it makes steering extremely difficult. Many users have reported that the skeg was lost on their maiden voyage with the kayak. Some have advised to drill a hole in the skeg and tie it with a fishing line to your boat, so you would be able to find it in the event of it falling off.
The Explorer K2 can be used by just one person, but you would need to add extra cargo for more weight, otherwise you are very susceptible to the wind and tracking would be difficult.
Even though it is made from sturdy material it remains an inflatable kayak and small tears or slow punctures is not always avoidable. Therefore, this is not the kayak to take with you when riding rapids or exploring the open ocean. Keep this in mind if you are a more adventurous kayaker.
The Intex Explorer K2 is currently available online for less than 100 USD on Amazon. This is an extremely good price for a first kayak. Make sure to buy from a site like Amazon rather than sites that you are not familiar with, since secure payment options and good after care service is essential when shopping online.
The Intex Explorer K2 is a two-person kayak designed for you and a partner to be able to relax and enjoy yourself in the great outdoors. It is lightweight, sturdy, very affordable and user friendly, which will make your kayaking experience all the more pleasant.
This is a great kayak for families, newbies to the kayaking world or even intermediate kayakers looking for a portable kayak that takes up minimal storage space.
Go try one out today and have a new adventure.
Sevylor has been founded in 1948 and since then they are a leading provider of a broad range of inflatable products for watersport. They produce inflatable kayaks, boats, paddle boards and other recreational devices. They want to encourage people to go outdoors and enjoy themselves with high quality and affordable products.
The Sevylor Quikpak K1 is no different and will definitely add to your fun. It is an excellent value for money product that will motivate you to get moving on the water.
Getting onto the water has never been easier since the Sevylor Quikpak K1 Kayak has been around. Featuring a backpack as a storage system, you can take this inflatable kayak wherever you want to go.
This is a one-person recreational kayak intended for use on the calm waters of a lake while spending time with loved ones and enjoying the sun and the beauty that nature offers.
The Sevylor Quikpak K1 is made of 21-gauge PVC fabric and has a sturdy reinforced tarpaulin bottom. This helps to avoid tears and punctures. It is easy to inflate and deflate due to double lock valves, and you can be in the water in about 5 minutes after starting to setup.
It is a stable kayak and is suitable for the whole family: Kids, teens and adults. It does not capsize easily because of its slightly broader than normal body.
The backpack system is ingenious since it makes this such a portable device. Better yet the backpack serves as extra back support by folding out into your kayak’s seat.
The kayak features multiple air chambers, which makes it safer on the water in the unfortunate event of a puncture. This implies that you would still be able to get to shore since all the air would not be let out at once should you hit something unforeseen with your boat.
Sevylor Quikpak K1 features a multi-position foot rest in order for you to find your most relaxed position. There is even a cup holder for a drink on board. All these little extras add up for a day of comfort on the lake.
There is bungee cord at the front of the boat which can be used to store extra gear or food. Carry handles on both end of the boat help to easily carry the kayak into or out of the water. Added accessories are a hand pump and a paddle and of course the backpack.
The kayak comes with a 90 days limited warranty from Sevylor.
The portability of the Sevylor K1 Quickpak Kayak is probably its biggest advantage. The fact that the backpack becomes part of your seat means you don’t have to worry where to leave the carry bag and is cleverly designed.
The quick assembly and easy inflating and deflating is also a huge positive. It is also not heavy to carry.
The Sevylor K1 Quickpak kayak is rather comfortable for an inflatable kayak. Not only can you stretch your legs out, but the backrest gives added support as well. Even kayakers that are not skinny have reported that they sit comfortably on the kayak.
Many users have noted that it is suitable for the whole family since it is quite stable on the water. We love the fact that children and adults alike are able to go out and enjoy themselves on this kayak.
Most users report that the Sevylor K1 Quickpak is surprisingly resilient in terms of punctures and leaks, and even though it is an inflatable, it has behaved quite well.
The Sevylor K1 Quickpak is a very affordable model and is good value for money for either beginners or experienced kayakers who are looking for a compact and portable recreational kayak.
Almost all buyers have complained about the included paddles and have advised to not go out paddling with it. The plastic connectors of the paddles apparently broke fairly early and some users were left stranded on the lake without a paddle. Therefore, it is advised to rather buy a separate set of paddles.
Overall there hasn’t been much complaints about the boat itself other than a few users who reported seam leaks or punctures developing which can be expected with an inflatable kayak.
It is important to bear in mind that this kayak is not intended for use on rough waters or very windy situations.
This kayak is also not for fast paddling and you would struggle to keep up with others who are going for gold.
The Sevylor K1 Quikpak Kayak is selling online for around 130 USD on Amazon. This is a remarkable price and makes it accessible to many people wanting to kayak. Take care to buy from a well-known and trusted site like Amazon, where you will have after care support in the event of any problems.
The Sevylor K1 Quikpak Kayak is a lovely addition to the recreational kayak family. It will make the water accessible to you at an affordable price and you do not need a big car or large garage to store it in.
Just throw it in the trunk of your vehicle and off you go. Be sure to try it out and enjoy lazy summer days on the water.
There is much to be said of the advantages of using a kayak to fish. The humble kayak allows the keen fisher to reach those areas where others are not easily able to.
Whether it is finding a favorite spot where the fish always seem to bite or being able to reach shores, not easily reached by others, the simple elegance of the fishing kayak, allows you to hearken back to times when fishing from (or accessing a spot) using a kayak was more common.
Imagine the envy of your friends and family. Imagine the envy of other fisher folk when you are catching the ones that they can only dream about.
When it comes to the joy of fishing, the ability to reach places that others cannot will have a significant impact upon the number, and size of the fish you catch.
When looking for a cost effective and easy way in which to access these hard to reach spots, there is little to compare to the fishing kayak. Sure, you could use a boat, but where are you going to get so much transport capability for such a low price.
Sun Dolphin was started in 1982, in Muskegon, Michigan. This family owned business has been leading the way in the manufacture of kayaks and outdoor equipment since then.
We think there is something reassuring about buying a kayak from a family owned company founded in America. When it comes to safety, it’s nice to know that there is somebody local making fishing kayaks.
There is much about the Journey Fishing Kayak from Sun Dolphin that appeals.
The Sun Dolphin Journey Fishing Kayak comes with so many features, you will think that it should cost two or three times as much.
There is much to be said about the Sun Dolphin Journey Fishing Kayak. It is easy to see why this kayak is so popular amongst keen fishers.
The ten-foot Sun Dolphin Journey Fishing Kayak has been specifically designed for people who want to fish. This is evident in the way it has been designed for the additional stability from required from a fishing kayak, as well as great performance through the water.
The Sun Dolphin Journey Fishing Kayak is frankly, remarkable value for the money.
There are several features that people really like about the Sun Dolphin Journey Fishing Kayak. Like all good fishing kayaks, there is a paddle holder attached to the sides of the kayak, allowing you to safely secure the paddle while fishing. After all, no one wants to have to swim home.
The large open cockpit makes it easy to get into and out of the Sun Dolphin Journey Fishing Kayak. When you are carrying gear, tackle and other items, the last thing you need is unnecessary complications.
The adjustable padded seat, the adjustable foot braces and the protective thigh pads all add up to a fishing kayak that has the necessary level of comfort to allow you to fish for hours on end.
Like all good fishing kayaks, there are two flushed mounted rod holders provided behind the seat to provide space for extra rods, when out on the water. There is also a swivel mounted rod holder up front to provide more versatility to your fishing needs. What better way to fish than with multiple lines.
We like the fact that the Sun Dolphin Journey Fishing Kayak has been made from durable, high density polyethylene. Not only does this make it durable but it also makes it lightweight. Being lightweight is essential when it comes to being able to easily use a fishing kayak.
The provision of three storage spaces, provides plenty of storage options. Having two large storage spaces, one of which is removable, along with a smaller storage compartment for small items, such as keys or a wallet, means that you can carry all the gear that you want to easily.
With all these great features at such a low price it is no wonder that the Sun Dolphin Journey Fishing Kayak is very popular amongst those looking for a better way to fish.
While the Sun Dolphin Journey Fishing Kayak is made from durable polyethylene, this is intended as a budget level fishing kayak. When you consider all the great features that it comes with, you will be shocked by the very low price.
Being a budget fishing kayak does not mean that it is indestructible however. If you mistreat this kayak by dragging it over stones, it will develop holes in time.
It is important to remember that this is a ten-foot kayak. It may not be suitable for taller people, even though it has adjustable seating and foot rests. Ultimately, if you are close to, or taller than six feet, you may want to consider the twelve-foot Journey Fishing Kayak from Sun Dolphin.
The Sun Dolphin Journey Fishing Kayak is available for purchase from all good reputable, online stores, such as Amazon.com.
When buying online, we recommend a reputable store with a good warranty and returns policy.
When it comes to getting a great fishing kayak, at a price that is ridiculously good value for the money, you will be as impressed with the Sun Dolphin Journey Fishing Kayak as we are.
Why not invest in one today and be the envy of all your friends and family.
When looking for a fishing kayak that is as committed to finding the fish, as you are, you would struggle to bypass the Sea Ghost Fishing Kayak from Vibe Kayaks.
If you are keen to fish in places that others cannot then this kayak is for you. If you see fishing as a way of life, rather than just a hobby, then this kayak is for you.
If fishing is a cheap way to put fresh food on the table, then this kayak is for.
The Vibe Kayaks Sea Ghost Fishing Kayak will help you take your fishing to a whole new level. A chance to have adventures in places you have never before visited.
While Vibe Kayaks is a relatively young brand, this Georgia based company was founded by two enthusiasts for the water and fishing. When it comes to choosing a fishing kayak, we believe that it is important for the founders to use their own products.
Great business founders love what they do, and would still make their products for themselves, even if no one else wanted them. This is the type of business that Vibe Kayaks is.
What better way to fish than using the Vibe Kayaks Sea Ghost Fishing Kayak. This one-person fishing kayak, will let you reach those spots that you currently can only yearn for.
There is much to like about the Vibe Kayaks Sea Ghost Fishing Kayak.
This kayak has been designed for the extra stability required when fishing. As with all fishing kayaks, this can sometimes be at the expense of a little speed, but is worth it given the extra stability gained.
This lightweight fishing kayak, can be managed by one person, to get it into and out of the water, making it easy to use and to access places you might never have otherwise fished.
The Vibe Kayaks Sea Ghost Fishing Kayak inclusion of two flush mounted rod holders, are to be expected for a good fishing kayak, however the inclusion of gear track, means that additional rigging and gear can be added for all your fishing convenience.
While not all fishing kayaks will come with a rudder pre-installed, we like the fact that the Vibe Kayaks Sea Ghost Fishing Kayak does. It is by means of the rudder, that this kayak will be better able to travel efficiently through the water, making for a better overall fishing experience.
As with all good fishing kayaks, you are probably going to have a bit of gear with you. The fact that the Vibe Kayaks Sea Ghost Fishing Kayak has four different storage spaces, means that you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to stowing your gear and equipment.
The addition of a cup holder could almost be considered a luxury, if it wasn’t for the fact that it is just too convenient to ignore. When out of the water, what better way to have quick and easy access to your preferred beverage than by way of the handy built-in cup holder.
The good thing is that there are other great features that the Vibe Kayaks Sea Ghost Fishing Kayak has that we don’t have space to mention. Features such as the built-in fish ruler.
Vibe Kayaks is a young company, with a well-made product, that is hard to fault.
If there was one thing that we do not like about the Vibe Kayaks Sea Ghost Fishing Kayak, is that while it is great value for the money, especially in light of what you get, there will be cheaper options out there. Sure, they may not be made to the same standards, or have the same features, but they are cheaper.
If you are looking for a cheap, entry level fishing kayak that you may only use a couple of times a year, then there are cheaper options that will be more than adequate for you. On the other hand, if you are looking for a quality designed fishing kayak, that has many useful features, and is good value for money then the Vibe Kayaks Sea Ghost Fishing Kayak is for you.
There are plenty of more expensive options out there, which are not as good as the Vibe Kayaks Sea Ghost Fishing Kayak.
When it comes to shopping online (or in person), there is always the chance that you may not be happy with your purchase when you get it home. This is when you will appreciate buying from a reputable store, with a great returns policy; buying from a store like Amazon.
The Vibe Kayaks Sea Ghost Fishing Kayak is a truly remarkable fishing kayak that has many great features, helping to make it incredibly good value for money. While it is not the cheapest on the market, it a well-priced, quality fishing kayak from a bunch of enthusiastic American water junkies.
Why not buy the Vibe Kayaks Sea Ghost Fishing Kayak today and start having better fishing adventures?
We all love to hear of unlikely people or things being able to overcome the odds and perform at unimaginable heights. The boxer who won the fight, despite the insurmountable odds the skinny horse that won the race or that car that just seemed like he wouldn’t have it in him, but finished the race.
We all love the stories, but for the most part, wouldn’t want to be the guy inside the car praying it wouldn’t break down and burn up. When it comes to kayak, it’s basically the same thing. Most of the time we are going to look for the one that will get us from point A to point B in the safest most enjoyable way possible. If we know beforehand that we are going to really be putting our boat to the test in some shallow waters or are going to be doing some heavy fishing we are going to tend to look for a stable, and wide kayak in which we feel safest in.
The problem with that is we might end up buying a kayak that will ultimately cost a lot of money and a lot of effort to move around. It may have all the features we need and then some, but that may not be your best option if you need to be moving around a lot. We came across the Vibe Kayaks Yellowfin 100 10 foot Angler Sit On Top Kayak. It is a high-performance lightweight boat that you can easily take to and from the water with a lot of different features that will make your fishing and kayaking experience a memorable one.
This 10-foot kayak can hold up to 375 pounds of you plus cargo. It has a framed seat very atypical of kayaks in this price range and size. It comes with 4 flush mount rod holders. Where the rods can go in up to 8 inches into the boat. Keeping them very safe from falling out or anything. It also has a rod holder right in front of the seat with a lock-in mechanism.
According to multiple sources, this can not only help you hold the rod while you paddle, but it can also help as support to allow you to paddle when you have a fish hooked in who is trying to pull you into a direction you do not wish to go in. It comes with two waterproof storage hatches.
One right underneath the seat and the other in the front. They can hold many fish and tools at once. The framed seat comes with extra fasteners that you can tie to the floor of the kayak for extra stability. From what we have experienced, it is a very stable boat and will allow you to spend more time actually out in the water than worrying about the boat itself.
Weight size and price are the first things that jump out at you when looking at this particular kayak. Essentially you can get a lot out of it in the water and don’t have to be super strong to be able to carry it around.
Like we previously stated the framed seat is very atypical of kayaks under 1,000 dollars so evidently this is a nice asset that we liked. Since you can spend more hours in the water without your body beginning to cramp up or feeling uncomfortable overall. The secure straps on the seat are also a neat little asset.
I am not sure how much “safer” they actually make the seat, but it gives you a little safety cushion so you can’t go wrong there. The road holder in the console is one of the assets we enjoyed the most. As it really gives you the opportunity to keep your hands free most of the time. The lock-in feature is really tight so you can use it to help you reel in fish.
The last thing that made it really easy for us and we think will for you too is that you can take it straight out of the box and into the water. No assembly required no extra things need to be put on it. You take it out of the box and start paddling.
We understand that it is a smaller boat however, the rod holders don’t run so deep. So it really depends on what type of rod you want to use to make sure that you feel comfortable leaving it in one of the holders. Especially if you are in very shallow water.
Other than that maybe the storage hatches are not as big as we would want them to be, but then again if you need more room you need to buy a bigger boat. We feel there is just no way around that sadly. Lastly, we are a little concerned with the paddle holders’ durability.
Especially since they are going to constantly in contact with water and other elements that will inevitably take a toll on them over time. Other than that we can say you are going to be safe and having a great time out there!
With the Yellowfin 100 there are actually plenty of ways to buy. If you are a long-time kayak enthusiast, you probably can pick it up at the same store you go too to gear up. If not they will probably be able to point you in the right direction. If you are relatively new to this then you can shop on Amazon and rest assured you are going to get a quality product. If you are going to choose, the online route be sure to choose a certified seller and inspect the product from top to bottom when it comes in so you won’t run into any surprises.
You can’t go wrong with an easy to use lightweight product. Great for people who don’t usually carry a lot of gear around. It is essentially a kayak that can be enjoyed by amateurs and pros alike at a great price!
Shopping for food, cleaning supplies, and things for around the house you are generally not as excited as when you are shopping for clothes. Of course, that depends on how much of a shopaholic you have in you.
When it comes to kayaks and Sups we tend to get really excited! Because what we are more concerned about is how much fun we are able to have with whatever it is that we decide to purchase. That can be a great feeling while shopping, but when it doesn’t work out the disappointment can be greater than with almost any other purchase.
Especially when you are praying a pretty penny expecting to have some fun!
We went out and got the Vibe Kayaks 12′ Maverick 120 SUP to do some fishing. To be honest we didn’t have much experience with these type of platforms when we first got this one. That is exactly why we decided to start here.
The thought and consensus overall with this particular product from what we heard online was, that it was a very decent option at a relatively low price for these types of toys. Right off the bat, we knew it was going to be something special. It is twelve feet long weighs 72 pounds and it is said that it can hold 475 pounds of weight on top. So you are not getting a cheap inflatable paddle board.
This is a real water platform from which you can fish, chill and even do some filming if you are into that type of entertainment. It comes with 5 integrated gear tracks for custom rigging. So you can adjust at which point you want to put your fishing rods or camera. It comes with six tie down spots on the board.
Where you can put things like coolers or even chairs. It has a couple of 8 inch sealed hatches that are waterproof so you can put essential items you need to keep dry. Like your car keys, phones, or even matches in case of emergency.
The deck is fully flat and comes with comfort grip deck padding to give you not only more comfort while walking on the deck, but better grip even when wet to prevent you from sliding into the water. Overall a very stable Sup on which you can spend several hours of fishing and other sorts aquatic activities.
The biggest difference between this sup board and other less expensive options out there is the number of features that the Vibe Kayaks 12′ Maverick 120 SUP brings to the table, as well as, the comfort level it provides.
The deck itself with its comfort grip padding makes it easy to walk and stand on the board. We liked the fact that you can adapt seats and coolers on the deck without a tremendous amount of effort involved.
Also, without losing neither stability nor maneuverability. Despite the fact that it can carry a lot of weight it is not the heaviest item out there. Which makes it very maneuverable in the water, and not that big of a hassle to get on top of a van or on any device that you wish to carry it in.
The gear tracks are a very cool asset. You can adjust all of your rods to exactly where you will feel comfortable with them. The only potential issue we see here would be the durability of the gear tracks. We wouldn’t want them to become rusty over time or having them stick.
Of course, that may depend a whole lot on how much each individual user takes care of his sup board.
We know that they are an extra asset, and we really can’t complain too much, but the sealed hatches don’t seem to be as waterproof as we would have liked. Maybe that is just an isolated issue, but we felt we had to put it out there. The paddle itself is very basic. We would have expected a little more than that for this type of product. As you can tell they are relatively minor “complaints.”
They really don’t affect the sup’s overall performance in any way. The only thing that could affect its overall performance is if the gear tracks are not durable. That would really derail the Maverick 120’s grade in our book at least.
This product is available online and at a number of specialized stores across the country. We typically recommend buying online in this case, because it is easier to make a checklist of all of the features it comes with. That way you can cross check that list when you receive the product and see if everything is in order.
When you go to a store, they might not include all of the features and it may be harder for you to know. Obviously, the only way to truly test this is out in the water if you get the chance to test out in a pool before you get out into the wild so to speak, it can give you some extra assurance that you are getting a high-quality product.
We had a great time fishing with the Maverick 120. So we don’t want to sound biased when grading it. However, like we said at the beginning of the review, a lot of times, these products are graded by the amount of fun you can have on it!
If you are looking for a more comfortable way to do some fishing where you can bring all of the essentials like bait, drinks, snacks, and all of your rods without going out and purchasing a boat this is essentially the next best thing.
At this particular price range, it is one of the best options out there quite honestly. Of course, don’t just take our word for it. Go out and try one of these and see for yourself how much fun you can have in a day on the water!
Maybe a lot of you can relate to having memories of going to the beach or lake and buying an inflatable toy in the shape of an orca or a dolphin and having some fun splashing around! The problem came whenever any of them got a puncture and then all of the fun went away.
Those memories at least on a personal level come from the mid-nineties. Things have changed a lot since then. However, we don’t blame anybody who still fears the dreaded punctures and stays away from inflatables. Heck, we typically advise to stay away from these types of products. Sometimes though we can’t ignore some of the true benefits that inflatables bring, like easy storage and transport! Of course, that is not the only benefits you get.
Today we are going to be looking at the Intex Challenger K1 Kayak. An inflatable option for your kayaking needs!
The kayak’s dimensions are 30-by-15-by-108 inches (W x H x D), with 27.2-pound weight and 220-pound maximum capacity. You don’t necessarily need to pump it up to maximum capacity. It really depends on where you are going to use it and what you like essentially. For an inflatable product, the cargo net is pretty decent.
You can hold multiple things on there without the fear of them falling out. Especially if you are going to use it in calm rivers or lakes. It also comes with a paddle and pump so you really don’t need anything, but what comes in the box, to be able to go out and have some fun. In case you have any trouble with punctures, it does come with a patch to cover any minor problems quickly.
Making this a more durable kayak than most other inflatables out there. Another advantage is that it is very easy to inflate. So you won’t have to worry about spending hours trying to just get it pumped up. Allowing you to spend more time having fun rather than setting up.
A lot of times when it comes to water sports there is a lot of time spent on preparing everything and getting everything set up. Especially when you live an urban area and have to travel somewhere to be able to get to the water. Sometimes it is a lot like getting on a ride at a packed theme park. You have to wait a long while for just a tiny bit of fun! In this case, it’s totally the opposite.
You can take it straight out of the box pump it up and get in the water. The easy inflating and deflating features make it a very practical asset for any avid water sports fan. This allows the K1 Challenger to be a great starting spot for people who want to go ahead and get into kayaking. Even though punctures are and always will be an issue with inflatable products in this particular case you will get a product you can tell at first sight that it is decently manufactured.
The resistant vinyl allows for relatively heavy-duty use. As long as you take good care of your kayak, you should have a durable product. I think it is a great way to take a calculated risk if you want to get into kayaking. You will only be spending around 50+ dollars on these products instead of over 400. So it is a great way to test out whether kayaking is to your liking or not! The paddle is very well made for a product in this price range. Which is also a definite positive asset in our book!
The seat was not the best feature that this kayak had to offer. This makes the cockpit not that accessible especially when wet. We know that making every aspect of this kayak inflatable is best for maneuverability and keeping its easy storage capabilities. However, it doesn’t make for the most comfortable or practical feature.
Although it has some decent features when it comes to incorporating anti-puncture materials we have read certain reviews online that claimed this, not 100% true and this kayak will develop holes over-time. That fact alone should be enough to warrant the raising of red flags on this product. Not surprising though as it was something we predicted.
So we can’t put too much of a knock on them for that. Overall the reviews online and the results we had out in the water throw out very positive feedback. So like we said at this price range, we really can’t get too picky.
Some people online complained that their Intex Challenger K1 Kayak came with pieces missing. Specifically speaking they claimed that the product they received lacked the seat and the paddle. We have a vast experience with online shopping and we can acknowledge that there are no guarantees that you will receive exactly what you ask for 100% of the time.
Regardless of who the manufacturer or how the shipping process is handled there might be some mistakes. We say this because there was one particular person complaining that he received an incomplete product, but only realized this once the warranty ran out because he had not yet used it.
Even if you buy, this at a winter sale try to at least take it out of the box before the warranty runs out! If you are even more of a skeptic try and test it in a pool or something first. Other than that, read the warranty guidelines and make sure to buy only from verified sellers!
This is a great product to start getting used to being out in the water. If you are an avid kayaker, you might want to get your kids started in one of these! It works as advertised if you want it to be a durable product though you are going to have to take good care of it! We would give this product a 4-star grade!
As parents, we really love it when our kids begin to enjoy a lot of the activities that we are also into! Sometimes it is tough to get them to do so if you don’t start developing their passion from an early age. It’s obvious that not all of the activities you enjoy can be shared with your kids right away. So we are not suggesting getting them as hooked as you are on wine and cheese from an early age. When it comes to water sports though you can really start getting your kids into them before they even learn how to swim almost!
Also, they are a fun and healthy way to spend great quality time with the family. That is why we wanted to get know the Lifetime Youth Wave Kayak with Paddle. This is obviously an atypical situation for us since we don’t have anybody that could test it out and provide us with proper feedback.
Since this is a product that is built specifically for kids safety and balance are going to be way more important than they typically are. That being said we will make you wait for no further and get going with the Lifetime Youth Wave Kayak with Paddle review.
This kayak is six feet in length and twenty-four inches wide. It can fit a kid that weighs up to 130 pounds. So it is basically a kayak that if you buy it for young kids can allow them to grow into it make it a very durable product for you. It only weighs around 18 pounds, so it isn’t too heavy so pre-teens could easily carry it around.
The fact that it has multiple footrests also helps your kids adapt to the kayak as they are growing. The one thing that stands out from this product is its stability. You won’t have to worry about your kids flipping over at any time. Of course, it is advised that they don’t test the products limits in shallow waters, but we believe that is just common sense.
Other than that it is a “toy” in which you can let your kids develop into. We are not suggesting you leave them unattended, but you could loosen the leash up a little bit. Allowing them to perceive the whole experience and hopefully become very passionate about water sports and kayaking in specific.
The idea that you can start your kids in kayaking from this young age is great. Especially with a very decent product like this one. The weight is great your kid won’t break his back trying to carry this. Also, it won’t be bulky or hard to move around in the water. Which is very important especially at this age for kids so that they don’t get frustrated, but rather they enjoy the overall experience.
We might have to amend this last statement about it being bulky. If your kid is five or six then yes, it will probably feel too big. However, the main asset here is that kids can grow into it and start feeling more and more comfortable as time goes on. Safety was one of the biggest issues coming in and for what we can see from reviews this is a great product that will make you feel comfortable letting your kid out on the water.
Even if it is a little bulky for him or her at first this seems like a better option as they will be able to continue to use it for years to come. Which means you won’t have to invest in a new kayak every six months or so.
There are many sellers available online. That is not necessarily a bad thing per say, but the issue is that there are many different prices online. Essentially they are trying to charge different prices just because, they offer a wider variety of colors. The other issue with the multiple online sellers is that you have a higher risk of choosing the wrong seller.
Let’s get one thing straight the kayak works great overall. As long as you are getting a new product directly from the manufacturer. Sadly some people have had to endure instances where they get products with missing parts or that feel used. Those are a couple of red flags. Not enough in our book to not buy this kayak. Especially since it has given many kids across the country great days out on the water.
Don’t sleep on which seller you pick when you buy. It is very important that you read the warranty all the way through. If you are thinking of buying this at a winter sale and know that you may not use it really for a while still you should open up and check that everything comes as advertised.
Especially if you go for a price bargain from a sketchy seller. There are very few people that have faced these problems. The product has a 4.8 out 5 rating on Amazon with hundreds of reviews. So just be prepared, but don’t be too worried.
This is a great product! Many kids have had their love of kayaking built through this product. As we’ve talked about through the whole review, safety is the biggest issue here, and this product can help you sleep at night. We don’t feel it is bulky at all. However, some people had those concerns. Like we said previously it will allow your kids to grow into the kayak and have fun for a longer period of time!
